CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK

The Children's Miracle Network CMN) began in 1983 as a national television special to raise money for hospitals for children.  Since then, in Canada, CMN has grown to 11 member hospitals and foundations - including B.C.'s Children's Hospital.

Hospitals associated with CMN treat children with all types of afflictions and injuries. One out of ten children will be treated at a CMN hospital by the age of 18.

Responsible for the health and well being of children between the ages of birth and 16 years, B.C.'s Children's Hospital receives over 150,000 patient visits a year. RE/MAX chose the Children's Miracle Network as its international charity because RE/MAX lists and sells homes with the very families whose children have been served, or may one day be served, by a CMN hospital.

And in addition, one hundred percent of local donations remain in the community in which they were made to benefit the participating hospital or foundation, in our case B.C.'s Children's Hospital.

Driven by the desire to raise funds to help sick children receive the medical treatment they need, RE/MAX Sales Associates have to-date contributed more than $33 million dollars to the Children's Miracle Network. The cornerstone of our involvement is the Miracle Home Program whereby a portion of the sales associate's personal funds from every commission received are donated to CMN. RE/MAX also raises funds through the annual Children's Miracle Network telethon and a myriad of other events.

MINOR HOCKEY

The North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association is home to just over 1000 players ages 6 to 20. It is part of the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association and it's teams compete in leagues with teams from other PCAHA member associations in Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. However, besides being a Life Member and long time volunteer, Dan is also among the longest on-going financial sponsors of North Vancouver Minor Hockey. Dan was also one of the first players ever to register with the NVMHA when it first started its program in 1966.

NVMHA Scholarships

North Van Minor Hockey has the best scholarship program in British Columbia. Since it was established in 1996, it has awarded an average of $2000 per year to NVMHA Midget and Juvenile players continuing their education at any academic, vocational or technical institution. The deadline for applications is typically mid March. Tax receiptable donations are also welcome and all funds donated are managed by the North Shore Foundation.
